What Makes Our Cake Smashes Special?

We offer cake smashes with cutouts, which give the photos an extra special feel. We don’t use generic digital backdrops that often make the image look flat and flat. Most of our cake smashes built around classic themes such as:

We are here to capture those unique moment between families and couples. We like to make you and your family feel as relaxed and chilled as possible. We want you to be in your comfort zone. Having your picture taken can feel stressful or like a chore. But at Dreamy Fox Photography we like to create a stress free environment. As we want you to shine as much as possible in front of the lens. We enjoy a chat and giggle and to make our photoshoots as fun as possible.
We also believe in quality. Which is why we use full-frame Canon cameras to capture your portraits with the highest megapixels. This is so you can print your pictures as large as you wish without losing any quality. Our aim is to have your photographs delivered to you within one to two weeks.

What is a cake smash photoshoot?
A cake smash photoshoot is a fun and playful way to celebrate your child’s first birthday. It involves letting your little one dig into a cake while we capture their reactions – whether it’s excitement, curiosity, or pure joy!
When should I book a cake smash session?
We recommend booking at least 4–6 weeks in advance to secure your preferred date. Many parents schedule the shoot when their baby is around 11 months old so they can use the photos for birthday invitations or decorations.
Where does the photoshoot take place?
We mainly offer only home studio sessions. Studio sessions provide a controlled environment with themed backdrops and props. We can come to your house, please contact me to find out the pricing for a at home cake smash.
Do I need to bring my own cake?
You can bring your own cake or let us arrange one for you. If you bring your own, we recommend a soft, fluffy cake with buttercream (not fondant) as it’s easier for babies to smash. Please inform us of any allergies in advance.
We charge a fee of £30 for a cake.
Also, free of charge we can provide a model cake that looks the same as a normal cake.
What should my baby wear?
Outfits should be cute but comfortable! Many parents choose themed outfits, tutus, or diaper covers. We suggest bringing an extra outfit for after the session, as things can get messy!
When will I receive my photos?
You will receive a preview within a few days, and the full edited gallery will be ready in 1-2 weeks. We will send you a digital download link. Please let me know if you require prints and I can send you our pricing.

Our cozy, purpose-built home studio is located in Hull, Southcotes. We’re just off the Holderness Road (A165), making us easy to reach from surrounding areas like Hedon, Willerby, Hessle, Cottingham, Brough, Swanland, and Market Weighton.
Coming from the south bank? We’re accessible from Barton-on-Humber , Grimsby, and Scunthorpe via the A15 and Humber Bridge.
Free on-street parking is available right outside
